I had already seen the benefits of Riplees Gold Label with my 3 other dogs (including increased energy and shinier coats)...but when I got my Chihuahua, he made an astounding transformation on the food.
Gizmo was underweight when I got him and under stress. His previous owner told me I would need to hand feed him and his stomach was easily upset so sometimes he would not eat at all. At first he would not eat crunchies so I had to add water & warm them, then feed them one by one to him. It was a painstaking process but he gained an entire pound in the first month!
In fact, Riplees was the only food he would trust to eat, because he knew it wouldn't make him sick. For a long time his stools were very soft but gradually his digestive system normalized & I introduced treats to his diet. I almost fell over with shock the day I saw him gnawing on a rawhide 'donut' just like his bigger pack members...!
Less than a year on Riplees food now he is healthy & happy, and I have seen his body gain muscle tone too. I nicknamed him 'froggy' because his legs are tiny, like frog legs...recently I have noticed that even these are filling out :-) Not only does he eat his own meals, he now begs for treats on a regular basis. He used to cling to the couch for dear life, not wanting to exercise, but now he lines up to walk with the others :-)
I am very grateful to Riplees for providing the nutritious food that turned Gizmo's life around. I can't wait to see him swim with the pack this summer!
